What does the Hard Six kit include?
Each kit ships with sterile mane-hair collection materials, step-by-step instructions, a pre-paid return mailer, and a unique code to access your horse's whole-genome dashboard once results are ready.
How is whole genome sequencing different from a 5-panel test?
Standard panels (5-panel, 6-panel) check a small set of pre-selected disease markers — often less than 0.1% of the genome. Hard Six sequences the entire genetic blueprint, so you get insights on hundreds of conditions, performance traits, lineage, and discoveries that emerge as research evolves.
How long does it take to get results?
Most reports are ready 4–6 weeks after we receive your sample. You'll get an email when results land in your dashboard.
Is this a substitute for veterinary care?
No. Hard Six provides genetic information to help you and your veterinarian make more informed decisions. We work alongside your vet, not in place of one.
